I don't want to be mean but if you didn't see this one coming then you're a downright sucker. Of course this is #1. How could anything else come close?
If you've been following this top 20 then you've taken in about 10,000+ words of me peeling back the curtain on Barstool Chicago over the last year. And let there be no doubt every single second has been a personal dream come true. Not trying to be a mush but when Big Cat offered me the opportunity in the spring of 2013 to blog about the Cubs, it was 100% with this goal in mind that one day I may get my own shot. Without speaking directly for my colleagues, they'd say the same. We got into this because we love everything about Barstool and we wanted to be apart of that story long before most of anyone really cared.
Fast forward through all those years and podcasts and lucky occurrences and blah blah blah and I'm sitting here writing this blog. If you can't believe it imagine where I'm coming from. One of these days I'll get over it completely but today is not that day.
We're really starting to scratch the surface of our potential as a group in Chicago. I don't want to oversell and under deliver but we're pumped to get going on 2020. From new video series to more podcasts and better interviews and hopefully some functioning cable in our shit hole office that we love to death. Things are changing and improving.
One thing that won't change though is how grateful we are for the opportunity to bring Barstool back to Chicago. I hope that's been made clear throughout this top 20 countdown. I'm starting to get emotional thinking about everything and sure maybe that's the *checks notes* zillion beers I've had tonight but really it's just because I'm painfully aware of my overwhelming luck to have this opportunity. Thanks to everyone for following along and here's to one hell of a 2020, even if our teams continue to suck.
All Gas No Brakes.
