Everyone knows Billy Crystal is a huge baseball fan, specifically of the Yankees. So for his 60th birthday (he was still 59 here), the Yankees let him take an-bat in one of their Spring Training games against the Pirates. Crystal stepped up to the plate and…..didn't look terrible? I mean he looks exactly like I'd expect a 59-year-old who never played pro baseball to look like. The fact that he is facing an actual pitcher too, Paul Maholm, not some scrub the Pirates were gonna cut in 3 weeks, and he actually fouled off a pitch. He took some decent hacks, wasn't flailing, or all jittery in the box. Billy really wanted that hit. He ended up drawing a 3-2 count before striking out, but he still fared much better than Chris Davis would have in that situation. Really cool moment for a guy who is richer than everyone, has everything, but just wanted to take one hack for his birthday.
