Billie Eilish Becomes Youngest Person Ever To Win A Grammy In All Four Major Categories

Source - The 18-year-old singer won five of her six nominations, including song of the year, best pop vocal album, album of the year, record of the year and best new artist.

At the 62nd annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night, Billie Eilish emerged as a five-time winner during the ceremony hosted by Alicia Keys.

The 18-year-old singer and first-time Grammy winner — who grew up recording songs with her brother, Finneas O'Connell, a fellow Grammy winner who co-writes and produces her music, in the bedroom of her parents' house in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park — was up for six awards during the ceremony.

Eilish won for best vocal pop album, album of the year and record of the year (When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?), song of the year ("Bad Guy") and best new artist.

In addition, she made history by being the youngest person to be nominated for, and to win, awards in all four general-field categories (album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and best new artist) in the same time period. Eilish is also the only woman to win the big four awards in the same night, and the second artist ever to do so, after Christopher Cross in 1981.

In nabbing song of the year honors, Eilish became the youngest winner since Lorde, who was 17 when she won in 2013 for co-writing "Royals."

You know what? Good for Billie. As a guy who writes dick jokes in his sweatpants all day, I simply cannot say anything bad about her. Yeah, her look bugs me, but who cares? Don't hate the player hate the game, as they say. At seventeen years old she's accomplished more than 99.999999999% of the population will in their lifetime and for that, I applaud her.

Was this song...

Better than this one?

In my opinion, no. Absolutely not. But it's not like Lizzo was overlooked. She was nominated a total of eight times and won three. One for Best Pop Solo Performance (Truth Hurts), one for Best Urban Contemporary Album (Because I love You), and one for Best Traditional R&B Performance (Jerome).

Here was Billie's speech for Best New Artist:

They also caught up to her after the show and you can tell how overwhelmed by emotional she was…

A little ray of light on an otherwise shitty night. Congrats, Bill.

Oh, and shout out to Lil Nas X. I haven't seen a more iconic pink outfit since Cam'ron in the 2002 Mercedes Benz Fashion week. What a legend.
