This Fingerstyle Cover Of "Sweet Child O' Mine" Is Next-Level Impressive
Let me get this outta the way right off the bat: I might've blogged this video before. I have no idea. I know I've blogged several impressive covers of "Sweet Child O' Mine" before, and went back to look for them, but they're all gone now. Can't find em. Probably something to do with DevNest.
I'm blogging this today, though, because I watched it on my way to the office this morning and found it to be equal parts mind-blowing and delightful. This dude is rocking the guitar parts, the bass part, the vocal melodies, and some percussion ALL BY HIMSELF! It's crazy! He's treating the guitar like it's ten different instruments and it works! It sounds absolutely beautiful. Give it a watch.
Oh, and quick story before I get outta here - we were playing some Jackbox Party games on Twitch the other day, and one of them asked: "What is your favorite love song?"
It was a thing where everyone in the room has to answer, but one of us had a slightly different prompt than the others (ex. "What's your go-to karaoke song?"), so the goal is to sniff that person out.
I had the regular prompt, answered, "Sweet Child O' Mine", and basically had the room turn on me! Ellie Schnitt was out here claiming I HAD to be the culprit because "Sweet Child O' Mine" is "not a love song"! Ok zoomer.
I'll have you know that "Sweet Child O' Mine" is one of the most romantic songs ever written, and to prove that, let me remind you that it was penned by Axl Rose for his bride-to-be, Erin Everly. She's the one with a smile that it seems to me reminds me of childhood memories where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky? You know, the one who's got eyes of the bluest skies as if they thought of rain. Of course it's a long song.
