Classic Hazing: JJ Redick's Teammates Duct Taped Him To A Chair And Left Him In A Cold Shower When He Was A Rookie
Just your classic rookie hazing for showing up late to practice. If you think this is going to be a blog that's going to either knock this sort of hazing or feel bad for JJ Redick, well, you've come to the wrong spot. If anything they should have left JJ in there longer. His teammates were 100% in the right. You can't be showing up to practice late as a rookie.
If anything, Redick deserved it. Remember Duke JJ Redick? That dude was a grade A asshole. Perhaps the most shocking thing in sports is the fact he's become a much more enjoyable player to watch and one of the best NBA players to listen to now. From this guy too:
That said, this has to be the worst feeling in the world. The moment you see 3 teammates coming at you with duct tape, you know you're fucked. But not only that, there's nothing worse than a cold shower. I want to burn my skin when I shower. Give me a nice hot steam instead of freezing my nuts off ESPECIALLY when I'm still wearing clothes.
I'd love to know what the equipment manager thought here. Imagine walking in just to do your job and there's your top-10 rookie pick sitting in a duct taped chair getting waterboarded in the shower essentially. That's got to be a moment of panic for a second.
