We Have Our First Simulated NCAA Tournament Bracket And The Winner Is ...
I'm sure there will be a million of these, but this is the first one I saw. They used Jerry Palm (granted, his rank as a bracketologist sucks, but's something) for the bracket and then ran a simulation. This is the dagger for a majority of college hoops fans. There are teams - Dayton, San Diego State and even someone like Baylor in a way - where they may never have this chance again. Dayton was going to be a 1 seed! San Diego State was a 1 or 2 seed! They had legit chances to win the national title.
I don't know how you see this as a Dayton fan and not riot.
You have the National Player of the Year in Obi Toppin. You have one of the, if not the, best offense in the country. You have a legit chance to win a title. You're not getting that again - at least not any time soon. Even if the NCAA were to announce seniors can come back for another year (which is going to be a wild thing develop), Obi isn't coming back. He's a top-10 pick, if not top-5 pick. You don't pass that up for another year at Dayton.
Imagine a Dayton/Gonzaga title game too. Two 'mid-majors' that aren't mid-majors. People would be all over the place, we'd have an awesome offensive game. We'd have someone getting their first title. Both fan bases are fucking rabid too. Dayton celebrations in the Ghetto would be wild. There'd be content for a week based on that alone.
If someone can find a way to give me the full rosters and a way to simulate this via video games, I will determine a champion and blog it like it's the NCAA Tournament. How is this only day 1.5 without sports?
