Jerry Seinfeld Says He Has No Interest In Buying The Mets And Saving Mets Fans From The Wilpons

Why hath thou abandoned us, Jerome From Manhattan? Look, I get that being a baseball fan is as much about eating hot dogs, drinking beer, and bitching about the actions of other people. Especially someone like Jerry Seinfeld, as I have described in this handy little meme:

Sure being a fan is a hell of a lot more fun than being an owner. But what Mets fan actually has fun rooting for the Mets while they are being owned the Wilpons? The team doesn't pursue big time free agents, never goes all-in at the deadline, and constantly creates 5 alarm blazes out of a simple PR brush fire. At some point, Jerry should think about the greater good if he can make a difference as a Mets fan, a New Yorker, and quite frankly a human by booting the Wilpons from the owners box. I'm sure the doctors grinding in the lab 24 hours a day to cure Coronavirus don't WANT to be there. But they are doing so for the betterment of mankind. Same goes for anyone that can put together a bid to rid the Mets of the Wilpons. Did I just compare my team's owners to the asshole pandemic causing chaos across the globe? Yes. But I stand by it.

Jerry may not have money falling out of his ass like Uncle Stevie Cohen does. He does have a huge name that could attract investors as well as a worth of just under a billion dollars. Magic Johnson helped save the Dodgers from Frank McCourt and ARod is reportedly interested in saving the Mets from the Wilpons. Yet the face of Mets fans somehow has no interest in saving his team from the worst owners in the sport. Say it ain't so, Jerome.
