Giannis And Blake Griffin Are The Latest Players To Donate $100,000 To Help Arena Workers

Now this is what I'm talking about and why yesterday I thought what Kevin Love did was so cool. It wasn't a situation where he just wanted the good publicity. It was a gesture that he hoped would encourage other players to step up and help these arena workers that are in a pretty tough spot with the NBA going on hiatus. It may not seem like a huge amount of money but it's certainly better than nothing. It's pretty crazy that players are being quicker about this than the actual owners. So far we have the Mavs/Kings/Cavs who had ownership step up and publicly declare they are going to figure something out, but that's it as far as I can tell. Not sure what the hold up is, I get the logistics take time to figure out but it takes two seconds to publicly declare there's going to be a plan in place. Not the best look for the billionaires when players are starting to come out and step up to contribute. You know what they shouldn't do? This

So if no other players donate then you're only giving 100k to these workers. Nice ownership group you got there in MIL. Woof.

So good on Giannis and Blake for taking matters into their own hands and making a difference. It shouldn't come as a surprise from the Blake Of The Year winner 

and all around good guy Giannis. Two guys that clearly get it. Blake did sign that massive extension not too long ago and Giannis is about to get the supermax so it's ashtray money for them. But just like Love it's not about the money, it's about making sure people whose lives are suddenly turned upside down have a little less to worry about.

I imagine more players are going to start doing the same, and I think that's pretty cool.
