A Reporter Went On GMA With No Pants On This Morning And I've Had Enough Of This Shit
Before I begin I need to establish how #brave I'm being right now by speaking out. It was only about 2 weeks ago that an OpEd in the LaTimes voiced a similar sentiment and everyone HATED it. Like HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATED-HATED.
And hey, I get it. We're coping with difficult times so any source of comfort is helpful. If that's sweatpants so be it...
But no pants at all? UNACCEPTABLE.
And no pants at all if you work in media? UNBELIEVABLY UNACCEPTABLE. I literally GASPED when I saw this Tweet regarding a GMA guest this morning:
I mean, the guy is on national television to talk about pharmacies and technologies and drones delivering medicine during a pandemic and whoopidy-doo! He's stunting on everyone in his fancy pants office, but without the actual fancy pants! Unbelievable! The disrespect!
That he couldn't take the effort to lift up both feet slightly to slide even a pair of sweatpants over them… I can't imagine that kind of laziness. It's a blatant disregard for the GMA anchors, for ABC News, for journalism everywhere, and worst of all - for the viewers who could watch anything at all this morning but they're watching him! I can't even fathom it. And I'm sorry for this rant but I just had to let it out and cool off. He made the rest of us in the media spotlight look bad this morning and it hurts the integrity of all of us. But whew, ok. It's off my chest. Thank you for listening. Now I can chill out & get back to work.
