Islanders Investigating Nick Leddy's Stalker After Receiving Violent Twitter Threats

NYDN – Violent Twitter threats directed at Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy have led to an investigation from local and federal law enforcement agencies. The 24-year-old has been a target of the same Twitter user for months, Newsday reported Tuesday night, and threats of a violent nature prompted the team’s security director to contact the FBI and Nassau County cops on Tuesday. “We alerted local and federal authorities immediately, as well as the NHL,” a spokesperson told the Long Island daily. “They’re investigating the matter. Nick and his family are safe.” The account has been suspended. Newsday reported that photos of Leddy’s driver’s licence and his credit cards were posted by the user, who also made violent threats against Leddy. According to the report, photos of Islanders teammate Matt Martin along with girlfriend Sydney Esiason — daughter of WFAN and CBS personality Boomer Esiason — and another woman were also posted by the Twitter user.

So yesterday all this drama was going down with Nick Leddy and his stalker. I didnt post about it at the time because the person was tweeting out Leddy’s credit card and driver’s license and personal pictures of Sydney Esiason and her friend and to be honest I didnt want to make things worse than they were. But now that its all mainstream news I figured I had to post about it.

Long story short Nick Leddy has a twitter stalker. It appears to be an absolutely bat shit crazy chick, but nobody is even sure if its a girl or a guy. For months now they’ve used multiple twitter accounts to harass Leddy and any girls he follows on twitter. Yesterday they resurfaced after Sydney posted a picture of her and Matt Martin next to Leddy and Sydney’s friend. This stalker made an account calling Sydney’s friend a slut and posting all of Leddy’s info and shit. Just true wack job behavior. The bottom of the barrel when it comes to lame twitter shit. What really sucks is the poor girl who got roped into this. Completely harmless girl takes a picture with Nick Leddy and next thing you know she’s all over twitter being harassed. Thats the shittiest part of this whole thing. Martin and Leddy are pros, unfortunately this comes with the territory. Even Sydney knows she’s going to subject herself to some of this nonsense dating an athlete I’m sure. But for a girl unrelated to everything to get yanked into all this drama for no reason is the most annoying part of all.

Actually check that, the most annoying part of all will be if this is any sort of distraction for Leddy and the Islanders down the stretch. Its been a shitty month of March highlighted by an awful loss last night with Hamonic and the Isles straight up handing away a point to the Wild. Losing 8 of 11 with only 11 more games to go has certainly been less than ideal. I dont need some twitter stalker making things any more difficult than they already are. If the local authorities don’t figure this shit out right away then I’m jumping on the case. Sometimes when we’re talking about weird internet shit like this, you gotta call in a weird internet guy. Sometimes you gotta play in the mud. Normal law enforcement tactics don’t work. So I’m giving it like 24 more hours and then we’re going vigilante up in this bitch. I’ll have all sorts of weird deep net Isles Stoolies get to the bottom of this in like 45 minutes. Put an end to this little game of twitter harassment real fucking quick and let everyone get back to business.
