USC Is Planning To Recognize Reggie Bush

(ESPN)--After 10 years, former USC Trojans running back Reggie Bush's disassociation from the university is expected to soon come to an end, sources told ESPN.

The timing comes as a result of an NCAA Committee on Infractions rule, adopted in 2017, that limits any mandated disassociations between an individual and a school to no more than 10 years. Bush's disassociation -- which came as part of sweeping sanctions that included a two-year postseason ban, 14 vacated victories (including the 2004 BCS national championship) and the loss of 30 scholarships -- began on June 10, 2010.

Once the 10-year period is over, according to COI procedures, the NCAA will no longer "monitor or enforce" disassociations and will give individual schools the freedom to decide how to proceed, whether that's to extend the disassociation or to end it.

Nothing is official between Bush and USC, but the former Heisman Trophy winner is in the process of finalizing an agreement that would allow him to be reinstated with the school, a source said.

Of all the ridiculous rules and enforcements that the NCAA does, this one is near the top of the list. Reggie Bush accepted some "improper benefits" for his services which led to USC winning basically every single game, becoming the most recognizable brand in college athletics, and making everyone that came within 50 yards of Reggie Bush MILLIONS of dollars. After all of that USC has been forced to pretend as if one their all time greatest players doesn't exist. They don't treat any of their other alums this badly and Reggie Bush didn't even kill anyone.

Do you remember Reggie Bush?

USC:

USC has had to officially forget a player who is literally unforgettable. In my opinion he's the greatest college football player of my lifetime. He was must-watch TV every single week. Absolutely electric and just so fucking sweet. I hated his guts because of the Bush-Push and I recognize him more than his alma mater has been allowed to for the past 10 years. I can't believe this is news. Reggie Bush, officially a Trojan again. Congrats to him.
