YIKES: Brooks Koepka To Withdraw From The Travelers Championship After Caddie Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Multiple Other Players Test Positive

Golfweek- World No. 4 Brooks Koepka has told Golfweek that he is withdrawing from the Travelers Championship after his caddie, Ricky Elliott, became the latest to test positive for coronavirus on the PGA Tour. Elliott tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday morning at TPC River Highlands having previously tested negative 48 hours earlier when he arrived at the tournament. “I’m going to pull out to protect everybody else. I think it’s the right thing to do,” Koepka said. “I don’t want to risk anyone’s life if they have respiratory issues or underlying conditions. The only way this Tour can continue is if guys to do this sort of thing and be proactive about it.” Elliott, Koepka and his coach Claude Harmon III went for additional COVID tests as a precaution after playing a practice round with Graeme McDowell on Tuesday.

Oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no. What's happening right now. What. Is. Happening. We've got PGA Tour players testing positive for coronavirus and withdrawing from this weekend's Travelers Championship left and right. Cameron Champ withdrew. Daniel Berger withdrew. Graeme McDowell withdrew. And now the latest, and by far the biggest, is Brooks Koepka withdrawing because his caddie tested positive. FUCK man. Fuck. That is not good news whatsoever. Not only have more players been testing positive but now a big name like Brooks has been knocked out. Yikes. I don't know what or if the PGA Tour has a number of positive tests in their head that, once they hit, they shut down the Tour all together but we've gotta be closer to that number than we were just a week or even a day ago.

For the first couple weeks that the Tour was back it sounded like things were going okay for the most part. There were ZERO positive tests the first week back at the Charles Schwab Challenge then last week there was one positive test with Nick Watney at the RBC Heritage that seemed to be contained but now things seem to be falling apart a bit. This fucking coronavirus is so contagious that it only takes a couple of people passing it around for it to be widespread in no time. I really hope they don't shut down the Tour because its been great having golf back these last couple of weeks but they might have to if positive tests continue to go up. Lastly, and this goes without saying, but PROTECT TIGER WOODS.

PS- How about the Memorial thinking they're gonna have 8,000 fans in attendance per day in a couple weeks? That seems less and less realistic with every second that passes.
