RIPIP To The Palace Of Auburn Hills

I don't know about you, but I love a good stadium implosion. And no, I'm not talking about the Warriors blowing a 3-1 lead. Although I did enjoy that as well. There's just something cool about watching massive buildings being blown to smithereens

and if you have any sense of NBA history you know what a special building The Palace of Auburn Hills was for the Pistons. This building opened in 1988 and closed back in 2017. Not a bad run I suppose. At the time it was the first modern style NBA arena and set the tone for what we would see be developed in the following years. That means this arena was obviously home to all three of the Pistons championships as well as one of the most famous fights in NBA history

Maybe it was something in the building, because there was also a WNBA fight in this arena in 2008!

The Pistons haven't played in this building for years with their new Little Caesars Arena opening in the 2017 season, but now every Pistons fan can officially pour one out for The Palace since it's nothing but dust. I'm not sure if you've taken a look at their franchise at the moment, but it might be a while before they are able to celebrate titles in that building.

At least they'll always have these moments
