Wake Up With Paul Simon Playing "Mrs. Robinson" In Yankee Stadium For Joe DiMaggio Day
Neat little video I found of an absolutely awesome performance by Paul Simon singing "Mrs. Robinson" on Joe DiMaggio Day a few weeks after Joe had died. Live in Yankee Stadium right in the middle of center field. Just Paul, his guitar, and a mic. He rocked it. You obviously know Paul Simon is a diehard Yankee fan, and included DiMaggio's name in the song. I liked how he didn't get flashy with it, he didn't make it about himself, just belted out a classic in honor of Joe. Pretty neat little tribute by Paul Simon for one of the greatest players in baseball history.
PS. Did you know DiMaggio once punched Billy Crystal in the stomach when Crystal didn't introduce him at an event as the "Greatest Living Ballplayer".
