Redman Does MTV Cribs 2014 In The Same House And Confirms That His Infamous Original Appearance Was All Real

NYDN – Redman keeps it real. The gritty New Jersey rapper, who famously showed off his bling-less Staten Island house during a 2001 episode of MTV “Cribs,” says the entire episode, long thought a hoax, was legit. He even brought the production crew back to the “De La Casa” crib for a 2014 “retro rewind” showcasing the different ways he’d “Beyonce’d” (read: upgraded) minor areas of the rundown two bedroom, two bathroom home, complete with a recording studio. “When they were in there filming, I did have a moment of thinking, ‘I don’t want to show that my city can’t live the good and lavish life too,’” he told Thrillist in a recent interview. “But then I was like, ‘F–k it, this isn’t about nobody else but me. I invited these guys to my house and now I got to go with it.’ This is just something that we do. Everything you see was real. It’s just everyday life for us.” “Other people would wait until they got this ballerific place to let us in because they had watched all these other ones like Master P, who was living in a gold Louisiana mansion. People saw that and they would say, ‘I’m not ready… You have to give me another year. I have to make some more bank,’” Diaz said. “You never knew what you were getting into. We didn’t case the joint,” Diaz told Thrillist. “Each time people opened the door, and that was how they received us. It was a surprise, and (Redman) showed us around — there were dishes in the sink, pizza boxes everywhere, a piggy bank, his bedroom is a mess. He was quite proud of it, and it was so refreshing because everyone in hip-hop is so style-conscious.” “They say it’s definitely the best one ever. People coming up to me about this just encourages me to make solid decisions all the way down,” he told Thrillist. “They said it was the highest-rated. To me, it means it worked for me. It taught me a lesson to stick to my guns, and to be true to myself. Don’t be somebody you’re not; don’t do things that’s not you.”

Short of somehow proving Santa Claus exists, this is the best news I could ever hear. There’s a handful of urban legends or unsubstantiated rumors that I would love confirmed in this world. For instance, I really want to find out that Joe Buck and Fernando Tatis have had sex. Thats way up there at the top of the list. I really want to confirm that Kevin Costner fucked Cal Ripken’s wife and nearly ended The Streak. I want to find out if Lil Kim actually ever went to the hospital because she had too much cum in her stomach. And for years I’ve wanted to know whether Redman’s MTV Cribs was real.

Well now we have the answer. A confirmed, 100% true. Which is sort of crazy if you ask me. Not like I expected Redman to have a mansion like some of the other rappers out in the year 2001, but for real that dudes house SUCKED. I mean that was like a tenement as far as rappers go. Dude actually lived in like a Staten Island slum compared to his contemporaries. How is that possible? Da Rockwilder came out in 1999. That alone had to be worth enough money to move up out of that shit shack. Celebrity Net Worth says he’s worth $10 million right now. How is he still living there?? How does he still have corn rows?? Guy really is just a Dirty Jersey guy living in Shaolin like a completely average dude. Just another part of what makes Method Man and Redman the best rap duo ever. (Jada and Styles a close second)
