"Dude It's A Fucking Rip Off" -Lana Rhodes Discussing The Porn Industry On The Call Her Daddy Podcast
It doesn't top Miley Cyrus, but Call Her Daddy had a pretty massive guest on today's show.....Lana Rhodes. A legend of the game. The title of the podcast told it all, "The Life Of A Pornstar."
Lana gave some great tidbits.
“I didn’t even know that at the time, that Lana is anal backwards. I found that out later.”
I had no idea that was a thing until I listened to the pod. You probably won't believe me when I say this, but I'm not a big porn guy.
“I was only with one guy before I did porn.”
“My favorite show was ‘The Girls Next Door’ of Playboy. I was obsessed. I wanted to be them growing up. Then I’d watch documentaries- Anna Nicole Smith, Savanna, Jenna Jameson and that sort of was just what my escape was…It just gave me hope for the future like I can do that whenever I grow up.” On how she knew she wanted to get into porn.
I guess I never thought about it much, but I did not realize that people have the goal of getting into porn. I thought it was just something that happened. I was wrong. Some people look up to LeBron James, others look up to Anna Nicole Smith.
“Altogether I’d say I’ve shot porn for less than 8 months…I had like 5 showcases in one year and then I quit and I started focusing on growing my Instagram and stuff like that. I shot to number one on PornHub after I had already quit porn. Just from the mainstream exposure. Social media is so much more powerful than actually being in porn.”
"In this day and age there are so many other options. Fucking do an Only Fans, upload your own shit on PornHub, it makes way more money. Whenever I quit porn I had less than $100,000 in my bank account and now I’m a millionaire now after quitting. Dude it’s a fucking rip off.”
That's right. Power to the people. Enough with those sleezy porn directors that take a majority of your profits. Start an OnlyFans. Become a millionaire. It's 2020. Listen to Lana. Take the 500k and the IP.
Based on my research, OnlyFans takes about 20% of subscriptions. That sounds a little high. GumRoad, which is a service that hosts various products from niche specific courses to ebooks, takes around 10%. Patreon takes around 5% I'm pretty sure.
P.s. Lana dates a Fordham alum. That's a big win for Fordham.
