People Complaining That Jurassic World Is Racist Because One Of The Dinosaurs Is Nicknamed "Paki"

Social Memo - Some viewers of Jurassic World are taking offense to the film, calling one of the lines in the movie “racist.” Specifically, the abbreviation of the dinosaur Pachycephalosaurus. During the course of the film, the Pachycephalosaurus escape from their enclosures, leading one character to shout, “The Pachys are out of containment!” This has led news outlets and Twitter users to call the film “racist.” A British comedian originally brought attention to the line, offering a tongue-in-cheek rant against the dinosaur’s name. However, people did not get the joke, and are actually calling the film racist. The Independent called the line “very racist.” The Huffington Post called it “accidental racism.” Yahoo News called it “unintentional, but very racist.” The Irish Examiner called it “unintentional racism.” Twitter users are calling the film out as well.

So this is what its come to, huh folks? People pretending to be outraged that a bunch of fictional dinosaurs are nicknamed “Pachys” and thats racist towards Pakistani people? In all my days of fake internet outrage, Jurassic Park Racism outrage may very well be the fakest. For fuck’s sake nobody even actually thought it was racist until they saw a comedian making a joke about it. Then they decide “Hey you know what? That IS racist! I’m offended by this! I’m going to speak out against this!” Give me a fucking break you losers. Are New Englanders racist when they’re talking about the liquor store and they say “packie?” No. Beacause they are talking about a fucking liquor store. Not Pakistani people. The same way when the characters in the fictional movie Jurassic World say “pachys,” they are talking about goddam dinosaurs. Not Pakistani people. Words that are spelled different but sound the same. Homophones or homographs or homonids or whatever the fuck those are called. Cmon people lets be people with functioning brains here and pause for a moment to exercise some rational thought as opposed to irrational outrage.

And you can kick rocks with this “accidental racism” bullshit. You know what was accidental racism? The other day on the Rundown when I asked Portnoy if he would have treated a white woman different from the ugly Mexican woman who needed help with her car. That was 100% a racist comment that I didnt even see as remotely offensive until it came out of my mouth. That’s accidental racism. Not a fucking dinosaur nickname sounding like a racial slur.
