Anthony "Rumble" Johnson Is Headed To Bellator In His Return To MMA
If you just started watching mixed martial arts in the past few years, you may not know who Anthony "Rumble" Johnson is. Johnson retired following a second loss to Daniel Cormier in a fight for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship back in 2017, and hasn't competed since. Rumble basically the aura of modern Francis Ngannou - but in the 205lb division. He had that same touch of death and put MONSTROUS power behind his punches. Shit was terrifying.
Now, Rumble is back - but he won't be returning to the octagon in his professional MMA return.
Instead, it'll be Bellator's light heavyweight division he plans on entering, which is actually has pretty great crop of talent….
Right now, everyone is pointing to Anthony Johnson vs Yoel Romero as the dream match we all want to see (being Yoel was just released by the UFC and is currently a free agent), but I think that's somethin you probably build to if you're Bellator (and could get Romero). Make sure the title's on the line for that one, ya know?
I don't think anyone would be opposed though, and honestly, I'm just excited to see some more Rumble KOs next year.
