A Tommy Lee & Pam Anderson Series Is In The Works At Hulu

Hulu has had their fair share of high-profile series but the network is now set to profile one of Hollywood’s more iconic couple and the scandal that shook the industry when it comes to celebrity privacy. Sources tell Deadline Lily James and Sebastian are on board to play Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee in a new limited series for Hulu going by the working title Pam & Tommy. The rockstar couple’s relationship dominated the tabloids for years, including the scandal of when their sex tape from their honeymoon was stolen and leaked to the public. Seth Rogen is likely to play the man who stole the tape with I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie helming the series.

(me on my way to stream this when it comes out)

The Tommy Lee-Pam Anderson relationship was very interesting for a number of reasons beyond the sex tape, but I'm assuming said sextape is the exact reason you clicked this blog. Well, here is what you can expect:

While the scandalous event will play a major part in the series, the story will have a big focus on their relationship going back to their whirlwind romance that started with them marrying after only knowing each other for 96 hours in 1995. The leaked VHS tape turned into quite the legal dispute with Anderson suing the video distribution company Internet Entertainment Group. Ultimately, the Lees entered into a confidential settlement agreement with IEG. Thereafter, the company began making the tape available to subscribers to its web sites again, resulting in triple the normal traffic on the site.

So you'll get a little bit about the tape, the boat, and the massive hog that you're all visualizing at the moment, but just as much about the rest of their relationship as well. I will say that I find the casting of Sebastian Stan and Lily James…interesting. I have a severe problem visualizing either of them in the role, though, because both of them are classically beautiful while both Lee and Anderson were more on the grimey side. Not to mention that Tommy Lee was recently played to perfection by noted hair haver MGK in 'The Dirt'.

Seth Rogen essentially playing his role of Dirty Randy from 'The League', checks out, though.

Remember how much we all watched that show and it's star, 9/11 Kevin? Simpler times.

Anyway, regardless of the castings I have very high hopes. Both Stan and James are fantastic actors and Craig Gillespie did an incredible job on 'I, Tonya' retelling a scandalous story. Having the chance to spread out the story over a mini-series should be fun as well, especially how their case and it's impact on sex-tapes and privacy rights. I wonder how the two subjects feel about this, though. Pamela is living life and Tommy Lee has since married vine star Brittany Furlan
