Wander Franco, The Number One Prospect In Baseball, Just Hit An Absolute Piss Missile On The First Pitch He Saw

So much for those de-juiced baseballs. When the Rays traded Blake Snell to the Padres this past offseason, there was a lot of talk about how the Rays' window had already closed after making it to Game 6 of the World Series last October. I believe that sentiment to be false.

The thing about the Rays is that no matter how little praise they get, they always seem to put together a winning ballclub, whether you know the names in the lineup or not. They just get shit done. Even without Snell in their rotation, the Rays will still be a major threat in the American League East and the entire American League for that matter. When one major talent is flipped elsewhere to keep the pipeline strong, another major talent is ready to join the big league roster as part of that pipeline.

In 2021, that name will be Wander Franco. He's the number one prospect in baseball and he is an absolute monster. I'd be lying if I said it didn't move a little bit when the Rays were in the World Series and he posted a picture of his jersey hanging in the locker with the World Series patch on it. Ultimately, we didn't get to see Franco's big league debut in the Fall Classic, but it's coming. And when it does, look the fuck out.
