Here Is An Update On The Savannah Banana's And Their "Banana Ball" Rules From Earlier This Week. It's Awesome.

So last week Big T wrote all about the Savannah Banana's and their brand new style of baseball called "Banana Ball". Shorter games, fans catching foul balls for outs, no walks, that sort of thing. A very MILB feeling game from the Bananas' and I loved the idea. Thinking outside the box and doing some off the wall stuff. Well I think we got our first taste of it last night? That or I took bad shrooms. They make up their own rules down there in Savannah and it showed. Their mascot is fucking ripped too, like look at the abs on this banana. My dude is shredded.

There is a lot to take in, but I think we have to start with the weigh ins. Like a UFC or RoughNRowdy match, we got the weigh ins first. Yup, introducing the teams by weigh in, kind of old school but I can get down with it. Would have loved to see Bartolo Colon up there before a start and they let everyone know he weighed in at 349. Could get some intimidation factor going too. Would not want to see Albert Belle up there at the weigh ins.

The star event of the night had to be the man on stilts getting an at-bat. Now I don't know what this rule was, but all I know is I saw twitter flooded with pictures and videos of a tall man on stilts getting plunked. Credit to him for not charging the mound too. I mean this is live during the game, not in-between innings entertainment, this counted. How do you not strike that guy out? His strike zone is MASSIVE! He's also on stilts so who knows how well he can swing a bat? Feel like you pound the outside corner with breaking stuff and you'll be okay. Although now that I look at it, that may be Richie Sexson up there. Does this change your stats too? A hit on stilts should count for like double the amount of hits or 3 times the RBIS.

And while there is no video of it, it appears that a fan did catch a foul ball for an out. Except he caught it for the home team which isn't exactly great and would probably result in violence if that happened in some MLB parks.

And of course we got an ump show with blue doing a backflip before making his "out" call. Always have to show off if you're an umpire. I'd love to see Joe West or Angel Hernandez try to do this before calling someone out when they beat the throw by 5 feet. Electric out call though.

Now the Bananas' lost because of the thing they do where you have to win 5 innings to get a win but overall it seemed like a pretty eventful game? I think I have no choice but to be a Bananas' fan now, they're my team. Bananas till I die baby. Now I can't wait to get down to Savannah and see these funky ass rules with guys on stilts. What a wild scene in Savannah.
