Bill Walton Picked Five Pac-12 Teams to Make the Final Four and Honestly Looks Like the Smartest Guy Out of All of Us
In an NCAA Tournament where more brackets have been busted than ever, it turns out all we needed to do was pick five teams from the Pac-12 to make it to the Final Four and we'd be in incredible shape. That's what Bill Walton did and now he looks like the smartest guy out of all of us — and how weird it is to say that.
Obviously we'll see how USC, Colorado and UCLA fare later today in their bids to reach the Sweet Sixteen, but the Trojans and Bruins are favored in their matchups, while the Buffaloes are just one-point underdogs. There's a very real chance that a quarter to a third of the Sweet Sixteen is made up of Pac-12 squads.
I don't think many people would have picked any one of those teams to even make it to the Elite Eight, so credit to Walton for sticking to his guns and going with the Conference of Champions. I can only imagine how happy he is seeing the Pac-12 run rampant in the NCAA Tournament while the Big Ten needs a Michigan win to keep from completely drowning.
I guess we'll see later today and into next weekend how well his prediction pans out.
