John Means Had About As Good Of An Opening Day Start As You Could Ask For As He Retires 18 In A Row, Orioles Give Up 2 Hits As They Beat The Sox 3-0

It was worth the wait, I'll say that. John Means and the Orioles pulled this one out against the Sox on "Opening Day" to the tune of 3-0. Means was absolutely incredible, I mean absolutely incredible. You really couldn't ask for anything more out of Means. 7 innings, 5 Ks, 1 hit, 0 walks, and retired 18 in a row. Absolutely dominating today, a historic start for John. This was a big one for Means, he had a terrible first half of the season last year as he battled tons of terribly sad off the field stuff last year. His last 4 starts he was awesome and it looks like he's just continuing that streak. You think John Means doesn't remember Alex Cora not playing him in the 2019 All Star Game? Think that had something to do with this start?

We saw the return of Trey Mancini who grounded into 2 double plays, but they were the best double plays I've ever seen. He also added a hit because all he does is hit.  Another emotional day for him as he returned to action officially, easily the best thing you will see today. The Sox just couldn't get anything going and the Orioles did what they do best, win on Opening Day.

Ryan Mountcastle would have had a grand slam if he was in any other park and banged one off the wall to score 2 to put the Birds up and they never looked back. Kid is grown man strong and he showed it here. He'll get to know that Monster quite a bit over his time here in Baltimore. Anthony Santander drove in the other run and that was all the Orioles would need as the Sox could only muster 2 hits all day and that was it. The lineup was able to work Nathan Eovaldi's pitch count and get him out after 5 and 1/3rd. Bullpen didn't have to do much but they came in for a few innings and got it done. Now we have Harvey Day tomorrow and hope to take the series against someone named Hauck? I don't think that's a real person.

PS. I bet every Masshole in Boston thought this was on the turnpike, pay this cameraman whatever he wants. Guy can play for me any day for tricking the Sox like this.
