Future MVP Juan Soto Walked It Off To Kick Start What Should Be A Very Fun Nats Year

What a start to the season. Scherzer gave up a 1st pitch HR, and then another HR, and then another HR.....AND THEN ANOTHER HR!!!!! but the Nats never stopped battling. Plagued by COVID with 5 starters on the mend, the Nats battled back to tie it in the bottom of the 9th, and by the time it was bases loaded with no outs and Soto at the dish, you knew it was over, he knew it was over, the world knew it was over.

This is what gets me pumped for baseball, fun players doing fun things in big situations. No offense to Mike Trout, but he's not going to get anyone watching baseball when he lists his favorite hobby as the weather. Just doesn't have that "it" factor. Soto has it in spades. At just 22 years old, he is a top 5 must-watch guy in the game right now, and should be for years and years to come.

The Nats could keep him on that weird cheap rookie deal, or they could slide him a blank check and ask him to fill in a number between 1 and 1 billion. Whatever you want, dude, it's yours. Juan Soto and Trea Turner should be terrorizing the league for the next decade and be an absolute thrill to watch. And imagine if Robles puts it all together? Mama Mia, what a lineup. Not to mention Carter Keiboom. The future is oh so bright, and what a blast it should be to watch them. Here's to a great baseball season in DC.
