The NFL Will Officially Allow Running Backs, Receivers, Tight Ends, Linebackers, And Defensive Backs To Wear Single Digit Numbers On Their Jersey

Andy Reid, you sick son of a bitch, you! As if having one of the greatest play callers in NFL history drawing up schemes for a cheat code QB and some of the most explosive skill position players in the universe wasn't enough, he just got the final Infinity Stone in his team's gauntlet by supercharging all of those skill players by giving them the option to drop a full number off their jersey which will instantly turn all those freak athletes into superfreaks since fast numbers extends far beyond just running back numbers, which I broke down here:

I will have to update this list to include numbers 1-19, but if a running back is wearing a single digit, they are instantly more faster, agile, and overall dynamic than if they are being weighed down by a number in the 20s, 30s, or puuuuuuke 40s.

This rule change doesn't instantly mean shaving a digit off your back will instantly make you better. Like I said when this rule was first proposed, I always felt like linebackers with single digits were faster but worse at tackling while DBs with single digits were flat out studs. But if you are a tight end with a single digit, you were likely fast as the wind, which is a good thing because your blocking was almost definitely suspect as fuck.

But the big changes will clearly be at the skill positions. If you guys thought I was excited about betting the Mecole Hardman First Touchdown prop beforehand, just wait until this guy shows up every Sunday.

Me after winning a responsible Hardman First TD bet placed at the Barstool Sportsbook:

I wouldn't be surprised if Andy Reid foots the bill for his entire offense since they are no longer paying the two bookend offensive tackles that allowed their offense run like a well oiled machine.

Also congrats to Jeff D. Lowe and all Browns fans for signing this version of Jadeveon Clowney instead of the solid if not uneven player of the last seven years.

I now raise my grade for the Browns signing two (2) full letter grades. Hopefully Jeff can find a way to sneak Team Ziti in the back door of The Dozen Tournament.

Blogger's Confession: As someone that loooooves the NFL but is pretty meh on college football, I lowkey hate this because I dislike any kind of change and always felt like players having to choose those bigger numbers made the NFL more of a big boy league. Yes, these are the words of a super duper unathletic blogger who got winded just writing this blog. But please respect my opinion.
