There Are Simply Too Many Idiots In The World For Traffic Roundabouts To Be As Popular As They Are

There are some days when I log on to the ol' internet machine and I'm greeted with extraordinary examples of the accomplishments and advancements we've made as human beings. When you think about the history of the universe and just how young our planet is and how young human life is as a species, it's remarkable to think about some of the things we've been able to achieve. The universe is millions upon millions of years old, and in just the past 150 years we've been able to go from the invention of the light bulb to now being able to walk around with a portable pornography player in our pocket that also acts as a telephone. It's wild.

But then other days I log on to the internet and I'm reminded of just how far we still have to go. Reminded that in the grand scheme of things, we are absolute fucking imbeciles. We're still a bunch of neanderthal descendants of apes who have mashed potatoes for brains and can't figure out a simple concept such as the traffic roundabout. Somewhere in the galaxy there are other forms of life. I'd imagine most of those lifeforms are more advanced than we are. They've probably figured out teleportation and shit like that, and here we are on Earth with a bunch of bozos in rural Kentucky who can't figure out how to go 270 degrees around a circle in order to make a left.

Moral of the story is that if you took the average of humans in the world, we're probably clocking in at "yeah, they're a bunch of idiots". There are plenty of geniuses in the world but enough to counterbalance all the bozos? Not even close. And since there are so many more bozos than there are geniuses, I just think some of these traffic engineers are getting too cocky by making roundabouts so popular. I get the advantage of them. I understand how they help the flow of traffic and how they reduce the environmental impact by having cars use their fuel more efficiently without having to get caught at a redlight for 5 minutes. But if you have folks on the road who can't even spell "efficiency", well then maybe we should just stick with red lights and green lights for the time being. Just one bozo's thoughts.
