WATCH: A One-Armed High School Basketball Player Put On A Damn Show During A Recent AAU Event
Meet Hansel Emmanuel, he's better at basketball than you despite not having a left arm. Then again most people reading this can't dribble with their left hand, that's besides the point. Hansel Emmanuel put on a DAMN SHOW during an AAU event in Texas recently. And let me put this correctly when I say GOD DAMN is he good. I clicked on the video expecting a couple moves, some finishes, but this? This is an entire game. He's dunking, he's beating people off the dribble, he's fucking good. Now he's trying to play some Division I ball (via CBS):
“If you work hard and believe in your abilities, you can succeed at whatever level you wanna do it. That kid is gonna find his way on to a Division I college basketball program,” says Kellen Buffington. He’s the organizer one of the biggest AAU tournaments the North Texas area has seen in a while, with 189 teams from all over the nation having come to play.
Hansel’s coach is adamant that “If he’s doing that consistently against these types of guys… Why are we even questioning that? The question should be how high is he gonna go… Not if he’s gonna play Division I basketball.”
Fuck it. Why not? Jim Abbott threw a no-hitter with one arm, so why not play Division I basketball? A couple months ago he dropped 31 in a game:
The angle of this blog was going to be okay, he's alright. He's out there competing. NOPE. This dude is flat out dominating some games. He's taking over games. He's doing it against legit competition too. He's not playing a bunch of 5'3" dudes that pay $25,000 just to go to a high school. He's breaking out different moves. He's got a creative finish at the rim. I'm convinced he's going to play in the league.
