I Got To Interview Cash Cash About Their New Album That Dropped Today, Playing In Bands When They Were Younger, And Dave's Pizza Review Of Their Hometown Spot In New Jersey

I got a chance to sit down and chop it up with Cash Cash last week. They dropped a new album this morning, Say It Like You Feel It, their first since 2016's Blood, Sweat & 3 Years. 

The trio, made up of brothers Jean Paul Makhlouf, Alex Makhlouf and childhood best friend Samuel Frisch have been making music since they were kids playing in emo and alt-rock bands growing up in Caldwell, NJ, and the influence that had on their music.

We talked about (my jealousy of) them getting to collaborate and make music with some childhood heroes like Dashboard Confessional, Goo Goo Dolls' John Rzeznik, and Nelly to name a few.

We got into it about how Dave hit some of their favorite pizza spots in their area in Jersey and their thoughts on his reviews, namely Angeloni's Pizzeria in Caldwell.

We discussed how their smash hit, 2013's "Take Me Home" featuring Bebe Rexha came to be and what they've been up to during Covid, including putting the finishing touches on the new album.

They landed a bevy of high-profile collaborators for the album, which will span a whopping 18 tracks. 

The record will dust the cobwebs off many of Cash Cash's older singles, like 2017's ROZES-assisted "Matches," 2018's "Finest Hour" with Abir, and 2019's "Call You" featuring Nasri of MAGIC!.

New songs to be unveiled on Say It Like You Feel It include its opener, "42," and a joint track with Alex Newell called "The Feels." Cash Cash debuted the album's latest single "Ride Or Die," a collaboration with renowned singer-songwriter Phoebe Ryan, two weeks ago.

The album is great and as you'll see in the interview, the guys couldn't be any more down to earth and humble. 

They're newest song, featuring Wiz Khalifa and Lukas Graham is one of my favorite pop-EDM tracks to come out in a long time. It's message is perfect timing for coming out of this nightmare of a year we've had.

These guys have grinded their asses off to get to where they are and deserve every bit of the success. Give the album a listen down below-
