Snoop Dogg Wants To Do This Year's Super Bowl Half Time Show With Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, And Kendrick Lamar
Yahoo - And since Snoop’s many interests and talents include football (in 2018, he starred in Coach Snoop, a docuseries about his Snoop Youth Football League), it seems that another ideal way for him to celebrate 30 years in the game would be at next year’s Super Bowl LVI. The 2022 Super Bowl is set to take place in Los Angeles, and it’s Snoop’s dream to play the halftime show with a troupe of hometown hip-hop heroes and fellow Death Row/Aftermath Records superstars.
“Hopefully the NFL will be smart and make the right decision. It’s in Inglewood, Calif., and it will make the most sense in the world,” says Snoop. “I'm available, Dre’s available, Eminem’s available, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent — whoever Dr. Dre wants to pull out of his hat to make this thing a professional event and make it big and the biggest effort they can have. It's just a matter of the NFL pulling the trigger.” And Snoop, who almost a decade ago was part of one of concert history’s most talked-about spectacles alongside Dre, when they performed with a Tupac Shakur hologram at Coachella 2012, promises that he and Dre would pull out all the stops once again. “I wouldn't just walk out. I would definitely do something that would be mind-blowing, you know what I'm saying? People will be talking about it for the next 30 years. I'm open to anything that's dope, unique, edgy, and cunning. This will be cutting-edge, just for my people.”
Arite Ginger Satan, you heard the man. This "makes the most sense in the world."
And he's right, it does.
The Super Bowl is taking place in Inglewood, CA. Snoop, Dre, and Tupac (R.I.P.) and Mack 10 put it on the map. It was the birthplace of West Coast Gangsta rap.
What better way to pay homage to the local music landscape and history than to let the founders of the genre grace the biggest stage?
We just paid homage to Latin music down in Miami, let's pay homage to gang banging in LA. It's only fair.
Snoop needs to give JAY-Z a call since Roc Nation produces the halftime show and advises the NFL on talent. Have Jigga Man lean on Roger and make this a multi-front attack.
Getting Snoop and Dre on stage to do "Nuthin But A G Thang" and "Still D.R.E." would be epic.
Following that up with Eminem and 50 Cent with a nice little homage to Nate Dogg thrown in would be icing on the cake.
Maybe even take Weird Al's dream scenario as food for thought. Weird Al proposed getting Coolio slowly lowered to a stage on wires with thousands of Amish people dancing on the field for "Amish Paradise"
“I foresee thousands of dancing Amish people, Coolio coming in on wires. The thing is, that’s not ever going to happen. I don’t think I’m on the NFL shortlist, frankly.”
If Goodell shoots this down, or ignores it, which we all know he will, I don't want, I NEED Snoop to redo his rant replacing the East Coast with Ginger Satan.
"Roger Goodell ain't got love for Death Row?!"
