The Michael Jordan vs Myron Mixon Debate Rages On As The Lord Of Q Wins His 5th World BBQ Championship

I wasn't alive to see Wayne Gretzky win any of his 4 Stanley Cups. I wasn't old enough to really get a chance to watch and appreciate what Michael Jordan was doing when he was winning his 6 NBA Championships. I was 6 when he won that last ring so I was a little more focused on the Power Rangers at the time. So for me, Myron Mixon is my GOAT. The one legend who I'll be able to tell my grandchildren one day what it was like living in the era of Myron Mixon completely dominating the BBQ game in his prime.

You can go back to that first season of BBQ Pitmasters in 2009-10. That was Myron Mixon in his prime. Like when Gretzky won the Hart Trophy 9 times in 10 years. I mean just look at this man's living room that looks like an episode of Hoarders because it's filled with so many trophies.

But when you look back on the careers of these all-time legends like Michael Jordan and Gretzky, you see that they both had about a 10-year window where they did their most damage. Gretzky dominated the 80s. Jordan dominated the 90s. But Myron Mixon? Well he won his first World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest in 2001. He won again in 2004 and 2007. But what makes Myron Mixon the GOAT of GOATs?

Well he won another world championship in 2016. And then just this past weekend at Memphis in May, the Lord of Q got World Championship #5.

20 years of dominance. You just don't see that type of longevity anymore. But when you can cook up a whole hog like Myron Mixon can, well I don't see any reason why he can't chase down Tom Brady and get his 7th world championship over the next few years.

All I'm saying is that the MJ vs LeBron debate is a waste of everybody's time. Because if anybody else deserves to be in the conversation for the Greatest GOAT Of All Time, it's Myron Mixon.
