Dead & Company Announce Huge 2021 Tour

Giphy Images.

Late last week, Dead & Company announced they will be hitting the road for 31 shows this year!  This has been a great trend lately seeing bands hitting the road again coming out of COVID. I am all for the positive signs that life is coming back! I have seen these guys 8 times and hope to add a couple more in 2021. Let’s take a look at this tour. Dead & Company features three members of the original Grateful Dead (Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzman, Mickey Hart) along with John Mayer on lead guitar, Oteil Burbridge on bass and Jeff Chimenti playing the keyboard.

The Summer Tour starts on August 16th in Raleigh, NC then it heads to Bristol, VA on the 18th. I am going to try to catch the 3rd show of tour on August 20th at Citi Field in New York before they head to Philly on the 21st. Dead & Company then heads to upstate New York for 3 shows in Bethel, Darien and Saratoga Springs before going to Hershey, PA to close out August.

The band kicks off September with a 2 night run in Mansfield, MA at the XFinity Center then heads to Hartford, CT for a Sunday show on September 5th. This one is the night before Labor Day and looks like a sleeper show to these eyes.

The band then heads midwest with shows at Blossom near Cleveland, Clarkston Michigan, Cincinnati, Maryland Heights (St. Louis) and the former Deer Creek in Noblesville, Indiana. The midwest run ends with a 2 nighter at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Sept 17th and 18th that promises to be a lot of fun.

After an 18 day break, Dead & Company kicks off the fall tour with a 2 night Florida run on October 6th in West Palm Beach  then Tampa the next night. There is a gaping hole on the schedule on Saturday October 9th that everyone is speculating to be a Jazzfest show in New Orleans! I obviously would love to see this happen!

The following week is a big South run that starts in Charlotte then goes to Atlanta before a 2 night Texas two step in Dallas and Houston.

The band then takes a week off before finishing the final stretch of the tour out West starting with a 2 night run at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Colorado on October 22nd and 23rd. The tour ends with a massive week starting in Phoenix then hitting San Diego before a 3 night Halloween run at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles!

I hope to see some of you out on the road at some point!
