For Some Reason People Are Concerned About a Play Going On In China Where Actors Are Chased By Wolves In a Crowded Theatre
Viewers are raising safety concerns over a Chinese play, in which real-life wolves were seen chasing performers through the middle of a crowded theater in Xi’an. A clip of the Colosseum-esque exhibition currently boasts 433 million views on the Chinese media platform Weibo.
In the shocking footage of the show — titled “Tuoling Legend,” or “The Legend of Camel Bell” — wolves can be seen pursuing performers across the stage sans any leashes or safety harnesses.
At one point, the apex predators leave the stage and chase the actors through the packed aisles while audiences record the shocking scene. The toothy thespians even act out fight scenes with a wolf pretend-mauling one of the performers as they flail about on the ground.
Just wanna get this off my chest before we dig in here....I myself am not a man of the theatre. Does that make me uncultured, you be the judge, but I much prefer watching a movie than seeing people act it out in front of me and possibly transition into a sing along. Not my cup of tea. That being said, you guarantee my safety as I watch wolves chase around the actors? Take all of my money. I'm a man who is always willing to adapt and change his opinion based on the circumstances. Despite being a firm anti-theatre man, I'm willing to open my eyes for some wolf chasing.
I love how the theatre company released a statement saying "these wolves are safe and won't hurt people."
Sounds like the one friend you got who had a pitbull growing up that "wouldn't harm a fly" and the second you walked through the door would attack you like you were the last piece of meat left on Earth. Take Dewey the Bear for example.
There is quite literally nothing you can say or do to assure me that a wolf is safe and won't hurt me. All it takes is once bad smell and all your blood is on the floor in minutes.
That being said, I look forward to the updates for this play. What could go wrong?
