I was never too worried that Ovi was going to play elsewhere, but what a relief this is anyway. 5 more year of the Great 8 in DC, at a pretty reasonable price as well. At 35 years old (turning 36 in September) this could very well be the last contract Ovi signs. These could be the final 5 years we get to watch the greatest goal scorer of all time tie up his yellow laces. I'm sad thinking about that, but glad, over the moon in fact, that he won't be doing it anywhere else.

5 more years of Alexander Ovechking in DC. 163 goals to pass Gretzky. That's 32.6 per season. And he'll do it in DC.
