Archers + Waterdogs Are Victorious: Recapping An Awesome Weekend With The Premier Lacrosse League in Colorado Springs

What a weekend out in Colorado! After what was originally supposed to be a Saturday night doubleheader with the Premier Lacrosse League, mother nature had other ideas to start us off.

Simply not what you want. We were all ready to go. Prep done, rehearsals complete, players ready to roll, and then everything gets put on pause. But that's okay. If broadcasting has taught me one thing, it's that you have to be able and willing to work things out on the fly. The waiting game was tough, I'm not going to lie. But about three hours after the originally scheduled start at Weidner Field, it was time to play lacrosse.

Game 1 - Archers 15, Redwoods 12

Archers LC were in desperate need of a win on Saturday night. Heading into the game, they were on a three-game losing streak, with all of those defeats coming by just one point. It was a back and forth affair for the majority of the game, but eventually the team in orange and blue did come out on top. Here are some of the highlights from Game 1:

Game 2 - Waterdogs 11, Whipsnakes 6

It was a quick turnaround for this game, which started off at 9:15 AM local time out in Colorado Springs. After a VERY sloppy start, what a second half from Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter's Waterdogs! After a brutal performance on the offensive end in the first half in which they only scored two goals, a 7-0 run out of the gate in the third quarter totally changed the momentum of the game. This was the first ever meeting between these two teams, and it was the Waterdogs who took down the two-time defending champions.

Overall, it was an awesome slate of games and felt really good to be back on the call for some lacrosse. I can't thank the PMT Crew, Paul Rabil + the PLL, and everybody at NBC Sports enough for the great opportunity. I know there are plenty of things to work on in order to becoming a better broadcaster, but all things considered, I'd call the weekend a success. Thank you to everyone who watched and supported Saturday and Sunday, it really means a lot. I hope you all enjoyed the broadcasts.
