Attention Reality TV Fans: Andy Cohen Announces The Real Housewives Of Dubai Is Officially Coming To Bravo

Source - On Monday morning, Andy Cohen, the “Real Housewives” executive producer, appeared on NBC’s “Today” to announce that Bravo has greenlit “The Real Housewives of Dubai.” Though the “Real Housewives” format has been used around the world, and a few of those series — such as “The Real Housewives of Melbourne” — have even aired on Bravo, there’s never been an official international version of the show until now.

“The Real Housewives of Dubai,” which has not yet begun production, will premiere next year on Bravo. The project has been an open secret in the Bravo world, and many guessed correctly that it would be what Cohen would be announcing on “Today.”

According to the press release from Bravo, “The Real Housewives of Dubai” will put the spotlight on “a group of women navigating their relationships, careers and supremely lavish and ultra-wealthy lifestyles in the United Arab Emirates. With the desert paradise of Dubai as the backdrop, this billionaire’s playground is known for its over-the-top opulence, jaw-dropping modern architecture and wild nightlife scene.”

Good lord. How? That's the only question I have - how is this going to work? I know the United Arab Emirates brands itself as the "progressive" Middle Eastern country, but are they? Like are they actually cool with a Bravo production team following around a bunch of women showing off their oil money? They have to be, right? Otherwise Bravo wouldn't be there. Regardless, if there's one man to make it happen it's Andy Cohen. The guy started The Real Housewives of Orange County back in 2006 and over the past fifteen years expanded to nearly a dozen cities growing the Bravo brand exponentially in the process.

Here's the trailer...

Boring, but that's probably the only footage they had. That said, the money on this show is going to be outrageous. Think Tom Girardi times ten. I'm talking billionaires who no one knows about being thrust into the spotlight in one of the most lavish settings on earth. The only probably is that the alcohol rules are weird in Dubai and in order to make good reality TV you need to get the cast members liquored up. Oh well. Fingers crossed this works out because I actually want to watch it. And before you shit on me for writing a Real Housewives blog watch an episode. It's some of the best reality television around. The clip I linked below prove just that. Thanks for reading.
