Ye, (Formerly Known As Kanye), Got Fucked Up, and Went OFF In "Drink Champs" Interview On Big Sean, Soulja Boy, Cancel Culture, Drake and Compared Himself To Thanos. - BONUS - New Music Friday

This was a wild interview that went on for two and half hours and saw Kanye, excuse me, Ye, progressively get more and more loose.

That was more likely do to the fact that he sparked a huge joint (and didn’t share) and drank his ass off the whole time, more than it was Noreaga and DJ EFN being top-notch inquisitors. Which, not to complain, they were far from. There were zero follow up questions to anything in this. They basically just let Kanye ramble, which is hardly a bad, or boring, thing.

But credit where credit is due, I didn't think anybody could get Kanye to relax and open up the way Joe Rogan was able to this summer

But the Superthug did it.

The really dope part about the interview was that it wasn't really an interview. It was more like a conversation. Noreaga kept things flowing, didn't really pry or ask Kanye questions, and just let him tell stories and explain things.

During the 150 minute conversation over drinks, Ye discussed a wide range of topics.

Everything from God, politics, the NBA and his relationship with Kobe Bryant,

(you really have to listen to this part because it's hilarious. Especially the story about the time Kobe got him excited about going to the gym to play ball and the just spent the entire time breaking down Scottie Pippen's footwork to him… People forget how close Kanye and Kobe were when Kanye first moved to LA)

He spoke about the Taylor Swift fiasco and admitted that his problem with alcohol and ego were to blame. (27 minute mark)

He spoke on his similarities to Akon because they are both pursuing the goal of, checks notes, "creating cities" and "expanding civilization." (42 min mark)

He of course opened up about his marriage to Kim Kardashian, who he made it a point to say he is still married to.

He discussed Donda, and even announced a re-released "Deluxe" version of it in the coming weeks. (Hopefully it includes the track with Andre 3000

They discussed Drake, and Kanye said confidently that if the two went head to head on Verzuz that he would be the winner. He continued to discuss their ongoing fued, comparing it to both a basketball rivalry and Mike Tyson’s beef with Evander Holyfield. “I bit his ear,” Ye said, aligning himself with Tyson.

West described how “Drake don’t do an outright diss song… he’s going to set it up like war.”

“He gonna do stuff like live five blocks down the right from you,” he continued. “He gonna go and DM every single girl in your family, every single girl around your family, all your n*ggas girls.”

(Sidebar- what made tonight even crazier is that one of Kanye's oldest longtime friends, and a guy who is hip hop royalty in Chicago, DJ Pharris posted this shortly after the interview aired.)

The conversation began to go in a bunch of different directions from that point as the trio began diving into some fucking amazing group chats,

he gave his thoughts on cancel culture, and the #metoo movement

“All the Me Too—like, when I sit next to Marilyn Manson and DaBaby, right after both of them got canceled, for five songs, you know, it’s like they can’t cancel a song,” said West. “They’ll hit you with the accusations or somebody who you was with ten years ago. And also, there’s women who’ve been through very serious things, pulled in alleys against they will—that’s different than a hug, but it’s classified as the same thing. It’s power and politics. You know, power-hungry maniacs and just control. This is 1984 mind control we’re in.”

he claimed Shakespeare “created 30 percent of our language”, and much more.

Kanye disclosed that he had only received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, saying that he “hallucinated” from it and stayed away from the second.

He even brought up the subject of abortion and returned to his ideas on spiritual and physical wellness that he discussed at length with Joe Rogan.

He gave props to Future

… and Chief Keef….

He compared himself to TB12.

He called Travis Scott out for jacking his style which is 100,000% true. To the point where, people forget, when Travis Scott first arrived on the scene officially people questioned if he had been a "ghost" writer and producer for Kanye his whole career.

He confessed why that little bitch Soulja Boy got cut from the album

Kanye, ever so humble, even compared himself to Robin Hood at one point. Not in the way you would guess, metaphorically stealing from the rich to give to poor. No, he instead made the comparison to explain his recent collaboration with The Gap. He went on to how Marilyn Manson and DaBaby and he have continued working together since recording "Jail Pt 2", saying, “They can’t cancel us all.”

He also claimed that he had been shadowbanned on Twitter after traveling to Haiti for being too outspoken.

He detailed his recent experience cutting his own hair, saying it was representative of his thoughts developing.

If you want the best soundbite from the entire discussion here it is. Just classic rambling yet somehow on point Kanye West -

The two parts of the interview that has twitter and the hip hop world buzzing was this very very awkward part regarding former G.O.O.D. Music artist, and Kanye signee, Big Sean.

I mean, Noreaga clapping and saying "that's a beautiful thing" and then seeing Kanye's face light up and smile to correct him is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Noreaga was wicked embarrassed. But we've all been there.

Just for the record, Big Sean is a beast. If Kanye hadn't had "discovered" him, it was only a matter of time before somebody else signed him. Obviously, the co-sign from Kanye at that time in each other's lives was monumental to Big Sean's immediate success, but the talent is there.

John Legend on the other hand should be thanking his lucky stars Kanye pulled him out of studio work and featured him on his earlier stuff. Without being introduced and put on by Kanye, John Legend could very well still be John Roger Stephens working as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group.

Big Sean would later comment on twitter, calling Kanye out for being two-faced.

He also said that he still supports Trump, remarking, “I still got a red hat on today. I’ll let y’all know that. I might not got it on, but I’ll let y’all know where I stand.”

He ripped Jus Blaze

He gave relationship advice

He explained the origin of the nickname (and subsequent mega-brand) Yeezy.

(Siegs whatup!)

He proclaimed Nas was chosen by God to be the greatest rapper of all time

He told a story about almost being killed in Belgium by a cop on accident a few weeks ago

He went stoic on all our asses with some deep philosophy shit-

There are all time rants, and then there was this interview tonight. Again, two and a half hours of shit that will make you laugh, stop you dead in your tracks to think deep, and shake your head as you say to yourself "this mother fucker is nuts". I could have listened for 6 more hours.

I highly recommend.
