If MLB Was Smart They’d Put The Skills Competition Back Into All Star Week

This is what I hope the MLBPA is fighting for during the lockout. This clip has been floating around of former MLB STUD Bentio Santiago performing in an MLB All Star skills competition event and I need the full version of it. This looks like a hell of a time, I’d love for it to be on before the Derby. Look at Benito, look at that dance and how much fun he’s having. He gunned that second throw in there, I’d love to see the best guys in the game do these skills competitions. 

Give me the best catchers in the game showing off their arms, give me the bunt competition we see in Korea. Give me a strongest throw from the outfielders, maybe a double play contest like the NHL Shootouts. The NFL used to have it perfectly when they did theirs, MLB should be no different. Sure you have to worry about guys getting hurt like when Barry Larkin blew out his elbow,  but I think guys would be interested. 

The derby is great, I love it. But we need something new, why not bring this back? All I want is an extended version of the video too, I need someone to dig that up for me. Until then I’ll be praying that baseball brings this back and we get to have some fun again. I also can’t stop starring at Santiago’s hair, it’s glorious.
