Video: This Ski Report is the Content You Didn't Realize You Needed, But You Do

Ah local TV. Is there no limit to the golden hours of joy that this proud medium produces? Whether we're talking about live newscasts or sponsored content like a ski mountain report.

I mean, just in the last couple of days we've had a reporter getting sideswiped by a car live on the air and continuing on like the superhero that she is:

... and now this.

If there's one person who deserves to be even mentioned in the same breath as pride of Dunbar, WV Tori Yourgey when it comes to dogged professionalism in the face of difficulty, it's my girl Abbey Way. It's one thing to shrug off a half ton of steel careening off your body. I can respect that as much as the next guy. Tori is a pro's pro. But imagine the discipline it takes to stay laser focused on the snowfall, the surface conditions and the numbers of trails open while this ruckus is going on just over your shoulder.

I cannot stop watching this. It's a perfect blend of a disaster unfolding in slow motion, and some of the best slapstick you'll ever see in your life. Seriously, there are actors who thought they'd perfected the art of broad, physical comedy who couldn't have approached this on their best day. Chevy Chase. Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau. Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean. The French used to give awards to Jerry Lewis and they would've taken them away and given them all to Ski Boots Woman.

Digging through the almost 500 replies, there is some suggestion that this was staged. I hope it wasn't. But if it was, it doesn't diminish it. The lady falling might be fake, but the tears from laughing are very, very real. Either way, give Abbey Way and the good people at Seven Springs all the Emmys for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy.
