Jason Heyward Took the Gloves Off and KO'd Rob Manfred in an Instagram Post

It doesn't take a lot to get public opinion on your side when you're shitting on Rob Manfred these days, as he's probably the most disliked person in sports currently. Even with that being the case, what Jason Heyward said in this Instagram post is still commendable. I haven't seen very many players openly willing to come out and say the owners' plan was to miss games the whole time — even though it very likely was.

While it doesn't necessarily do anything, it at least feels good to see players pissed off about this situation. Baseball, supposed to be America's pastime, is suffering because of the greed of 30 guys who view Major League teams no differently than tech companies or whatever else they own to have become billionaires in the first place. It's just an investment to them and they're willing to sacrifice the long-term health of a piece of American culture to save a few dollars.

Most casual sports fans don't really care, either. The baseball diehards were already becoming fewer and farther between and this will only exacerbate that fact. So it needs to be the players who come out and say things like what Heyward said to let people know what's really going on and why there won't be a season starting on time.

Good for J-Hey. These owners are taking away the game we love simply because they can and it's bullshit. Fight the power.
