North Carolina Star Armando Bacot Helped End Coach K's Career, But Grew Up A Duke Fan

On today's episode of the Barstool Bench Mob... ARMANDO BACOT! The North Carolina Tar Heels star joined us on the show the same day that he announced he would be returning for another season in Chapel Hill to reflect on an epic tournament run with UNC, his decision to come back, and much more.

When you think of the North Carolina Tar Heels 2022 basketball season, you are going to instantly think of the two times that UNC took down Duke in the span of a month. That's something that the present version of Armando Bacot loves to hear. But if the Tar Heels beat the Blue Devils like they did this season 12 years ago? I don't think he would have the same reaction. Here is why:

"You know, funny story - I went to Coach K's camp. So, I grew up, maybe a Duke fan. But I got to meet both coaches [K and Roy Williams], and I mean, Coach K, he's an unbelievable guy. I'm really good friends with his grandson, too, [Michael] Savarino. We actually hang like out all the time, like literally, all the time, so, and a lot of people don't know that."

Armando Bacot: Coach K career ender, but a former Duke fan. What a unique, but cool position to be in as this rivalry is set to begin another chapter. I am very, very excited to watch Bacot ball out once again next season. The sport is in a great spot when the double-double machine is on the court.
