Fun Fact: Joel Embiid Wouldn't Take Nearly As Many Free Throws If Teams Just, Ya Know, Stopped Constantly Fouling The Shit Out Of Him

Nick Nurse is an NBA Championship winning head coach. That's a pretty incredible accomplishment when you look at the numbers. There are only 35 individuals in the history of forever who have won an NBA Championship as a head coach. Think about how many people there have been in the world, and only 35 of them can say they led an NBA team to a championship at least once. But last night Nick Nurse accomplished something that nobody else has ever done before.

Last night Nick Nurse set the world record for the most time spent bitching at the refs during a basketball game. It was the hours leading up to the game, the entire 48 minutes of the game itself, during the TV timeout commercial breaks. At no point did Nick Nurse ever once even consider to stop being a little bitch and just coach his team for a change. I don't know, man. If I were Nick Nurse I'd be pretty embarrassed that a guy on the opposing team had to come over and console your crying ass and tell you to just calm down and take some deep breaths.

But Nick Nurse isn't the only guy who is obsessed with crying over the amount of times Joel Embiid gets to the line. He just set the world record as a head coach in the NBA, but the internet has been shitting their collective diapers over it all year long. Twitter dot com is just one giant poo filled diapy at the moment. But while everybody wants to bitch about Embiid putting up a bazillion free throw points, has anybody even considered that maybe--juuuuuuust maybe--the true underlying issue here is that teams just constantly foul the shit out of him?

Live look at Nick Nurse trying to figure out how Joel Embiid keeps getting all these calls:

Seems to me like there is a pretty simple solution out there for everybody. Just stop fouling the shit out of Joel Embiid every time he has the ball in his hands, and he won't get to the line a hundred times per night. The only issue is that nobody in the league is big enough or strong enough to guard Embiid without resorting to violence. Therein-lies the conundrum we find ourselves in. Teams want to stop Embiid, they don't have any athletes who are physically capable of stopping Embiid within the confines of the rules, they then must foul the crap out of him to have any chance of slowing him down, then said teams want to start acting like the league and Embiid are working together to make sure he gets all those calls.

But I get it. Because when you don't resort to fouling Embiid and you just try to keep him to the outside, you get this corner 3 dropped right in your face that sucks the will to live right out of Fred VanVleet.

Oh well. Such is life. 2 down, 14 to go. Time to put wittle Nicky out of his misery.
