Norm Macdonald secretly recorded a run-through of a planned standup special shortly before his death — and it could soon be coming to Netflix. The exciting news was revealed Wednesday by fellow funnyman David Spade, eight months on from the “Saturday Night Live” star’s untimely passing.

The “Weekend Update” legend died last September at the age of 61, following a nine-year battle with leukemia, which he kept secret from the public.

Cancer is a giant piece of shit, but it looks it wasn't able to stop the late great Norm Macdonald from giving us one more gift. A secret hour long set recorded in Norm's apartment during covid lockdown has been found and is getting turned into a Netflix special. His long time friend David Spade gave it a watch and was expectedly emotional.

“I definitely cried,” Spade stated, saying he saw the footage alongside five of Macdonald’s closest friends following a belated memorial service in Los Angeles last weekend.

Of course it's going to be awkward and sad, but if you think about it, would Norm want it any other way? The man had an incredible way to make literally everything funnier and I have to imagine he knocks this one out of the park. It honestly takes a lot these days to get me to tune into a full comedy special and pay attention, but safe to say I'm all in on this one.

All we can hope for is something close to "The Moth" joke
