French Soccer Club AS Saint Étienne Was Relegated After PK's So Fans Reacted Calmly By Storming The Field And Throwing Flares At Players

Christ almighty guys. Take it easy. Listen, getting relegated sucks but we don't need people out here shooting players with flares and making it look like a movie scene. Goodness, it's like I always say - handle losses like the rest of us normal human beings. Get drunk, angrily tweet about it, angrily text your friends and talk through it, replay the game in your head and do it all over again until next season. It's pretty easy to do, I promise. You don't even have to blog about your team losing in horrific fashion or getting relegated! That makes even easier as a fan. 

It's not even an exaggeration when I call European soccer fans bat shit crazy. This is just what happens when you get relegated. All rational thoughts go out the window and the only thing you can think to do is shoot flares at players. Let them know how you truly feel. Completely normal behavior, especially when you realize they lost in PKs. That's just brutal. 

This isn't a no-name club too. This is a club that has 10 Ligue 1 titles. Granted most of it came in the 60s and 70s we don't hold that against UCLA or Indiana basketball. A blueblood name is a blueblood name. That's basically AS Saint Etienne here. I'm all for insane behavior but let's reserve the craziness to storming the field and yelling at players. Please stop shooting flares at players. It won't help you get promoted.
