How Testicles Changed The Entire Show And The First Ever Smart Self-Sabotage | Challenge All-Stars Season 3, Episode 7 Recap

I can't stress how awesome the first 2 seasons have been. It keeps delivering a master class in what this show and what nostalgia is supposed to be. Don't get me wrong. I'm going to enjoy the normal Challenge that's on MTV. It's just a different game. The Challenge All-Stars delivers everything that made us fall in love with the show. Yeah, I said, fall in love with the show.

Obviously I don't think No Quitters is coming back (it's not). So maybe if people keep bothering us we'll try to do a Twitter spaces one night or something. Either way you'll be getting weekly recaps.

AGAIN SPOILERS ARE IN THIS BLOG

Trivia Day, Baby. Trivia Day

Nobody and I mean nobody loves trivia day more than Jeff D. Lowe and TJ Lavin. The only difference is Jeff D. Lowe doesn't get to toss people off a platform.

It's the best episode every single season because we get to see some of the dumbest answers of all time. I'm saying even dumber than Crime Dog.

Lance Armstrong, notorious astronaut.

We also had some of these brilliant answers:

Jonna thinking Lion King was Tiger King

Derrick thinking Blue Ivy was Kanye and Kim K's kid

KellyAnne thinking a Tiger was the fastest animal

Brad's self-sabotage was genius

He took the self-sabotage and it was 100% the smartest move. He has an alliance with basically every guy left. He's mostly safe. He doesn't want to sabotage someone like Mark and immediately have the fire back on him. He's basically the only one that could pull this off because of the alliances with both sides. It was the first time we saw it and I was wondering if someone would try to pull it off. It can't be talked about enough about how smart Brad is playing this season. It's a vintage Brad especially after kind of being whatever last season.

Trivia winners and decision making

Winners from trivia were Veronica and Derrick. We know that means they are the two in Authority and the people they pick to go in get to pick their opponent. During deliberation they talk about wanting to make a big move. Derrick wants to save Mark so they decide to go with Jordan. It makes sense because Jordan is sort of the odd man out. That said, I thought Derrick was going to throw Mark in because he figured he'd be picked. He wanted to give him the chance to pick his opponent - good editing. On the women's side Veronica gets to throw Jonna in to try and eliminate a good player. It's that time of the season when you have to make a move like that.

How testicles changed everything

That's right. I said testicles. The trivia challenge came down to one last question between Mark and Derrick. If Mark got it right, he'd win. The question was basically what testicles are you eating if you are eating Rocky Mountain Oysters. Mark got it wrong and was eliminated. That led to him being thrown in by Jordan. If Mark wins, who knows. Jordan still likely goes in but he has to call in someone else.

Elimination

Jonna gets right to it and calls in Roni. It's smart. Honestly forgot Roni was there a bunch of the season. She didn't really do, well, anything. She was kind of part of Treehouse. She didn't win. She didn't lose. She was just ready to fly under the radar to the final. Jordan does some weird ass Hercules speech to call in Mark. I'd say just be normal to Jordan, but that is normal for Jordan.

The elimination was pretty straightforward. You had to pull a rope and weight to get a puzzle bag to drop out of this tower and then solve the puzzle. First one to do it wins. Honestly I blinked and the women's one was over. Jonna destroyed Roni.

As for the guys, Mark got a quick lead but shout out Jordan for this:

Dude has won a ton despite the lack of two hands. Mark struggled a little with the puzzle, but ultimately got it and set up a pretty awesome last 5 for the guys. Brad, Derrick, Mark, Wes and Nehemiah is a LOADED final five. The girls have Veronica, Nia, Jonna, Kailah and KellyAnne. This is why All Stars is awesome.

The teaser

They showed the 'next on' for next week and it was Nia freaking out refusing to do the daily challenge saying she couldn't do it. Right after that they show TJ saying that someone couldn't compete going forward with an injury DQ. There was a little tidbit that Veronica busted her toe this episode and the editing makes you think it's Nia. Part of me thinks that Veronica toe line was there for a reason. Either way that's some old school Challenge editing.
