People Are Paying Hundreds To Sleep Outside Next To A Gas Station For The Sake Of 'Art'

Exciting news - For only $338.97USD you can spend the night in a gravel parking area next to a gas station in a small, Swiss village. If you partied hard enough in college you may have already done this state-side (shout out to the pine trees behind IUP's Wayne Ave Sheetz), but there's a catch in this particular instance; you're expected to lay there, completely out in the open, thinking of nothing but the world's problems until it's time to check out.

Via an Instagram post for the project:

Swiss conceptual artists Frank and Patrik Riklin and hotelier Daniel Charbonnier launch an "anti-idyllic" version of their «Null Stern – the only star is you» concept. For them the current world situation lead to reflection on the urgency and necessity of a radical change in society. They say: "It's no time to sleep!"

And via Reuters:

"Sleep is not the point," said Frank Riklin. "What's important is reflecting about the current world situation. Staying here is a statement about the need for urgent changes in society."

I must say, the proximity to the gas station is a plus because whatever the Swiss version of a 7Eleven taquito is has got to be fire. Perhaps an Älplermagronen with bits of Landjager rolled in raclette & then toasted on the roller heaters…? Eh?!?! But other than that I am out on this. Paying hundreds of dollars to some concept artists to sleep in the rain so I can feel good for seeming to care about the horrors of the world? I'll just lay in my own bed with massive anxiety for free, thanks.
