Iran Fired Its Manager Four Months Before The World Cup Because Everyone In Our Group Is Starting To Get Scared To Play The USMNT

[Source] - Dragan Skocic has been dismissed as Iran head coach with little more than four months to go to the World Cup finals in Qatar, Iran's state news agency IRNA reported on Monday.

It said that Iran's football federation had decided to dismiss the 53-year-old, adding that "there are unconfirmed reports that several Iranian candidates have a good chance to replace Skocic".

The Croatian won 15 of his 18 games in charge but has lost two of his last three matches, including a 2-1 friendly defeat by Algeria in Qatar last month.

We're about four months out from the World Cup and I'm stuck thinking about one thing. Everyone in Group B is scared of the USMNT. Frankly, I don't blame them. We should turn into the bad boys of soccer while also being good. Give me Weston McKennie willing to mix it up with basically anyone and everyone.

Just to recap so far - Wales' manager had to step down. Iran fired its manager. England wants to fire Gareth Southgate after looking like a JV squad in Nations League. Meanwhile, USMNT is looking strong with .... Greggg? This guy?

Fuck it. That's our guy (until Marsch or Pep come in). Now it's not exactly surprising that Iran fired Dragan Skocic. There have been rumblings of this for weeks now, including a report that there was a shouting match with Iran's soccer President. Not only that, but it ended up leading to a meeting with the damn President of the country.

Dragan Skočić, the manager of Iran’s national football team, and Mirshad Majedi, acting president of the Iranian Football Federation, reportedly had a shouting match last week that lasted for more than 90 minutes. Mere months before Team Melli is due to compete in Group B at the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar, consultations are taking place at President Raisi’s office on possibly sacking Skočić and inviting back the former head coach Carlos Queiroz.

Yeah, that'll get you fired in Iran.

And hey, I can joke about people being scared to play us. But here's the facts. This is probably the most talented roster we've had top to bottom. These guys are playing in the top leagues in Europe. These guys are all in their peaks or just hitting their peaks. That's the key to remember. We've seen good runs - 2002 most notably.

But go ahead Group B. Keep firing managers. We'll be ready for the dumbest World Cup ever in Qatar.

PS: Dragan Skocic is such a sick name.
