Lighten the Fuck Up! A Global Journalist Traveled to Afghanistan & What She Discovered was Shocking...

An global journalist from America traveled to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan to study the culture, and she was shocked to discover that women there were made to walk a full ten paces behind men.

She asked her guide why and he said, "Because, in this country, women are considered of lesser status." He went on, "Afghan women are not allowed to work outside the home. They must cover their faces in public and be accompanied by a male chaperone when they travel…"

Outraged by all the restrictions placed on Afghan women, the journalist immediately went back to the United States and published an article about the cruel and inhumane treatment of women in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.

A year later, she returned to cover war in the region and was pleasantly surprised to see Afghan women now walking a full ten paces ahead of men. She turned to her guide and asked, "What has changed since I was last here that women are now walking ten paces ahead of men and not ten paces behind?"

The guide answered, "Land mines…"
