Hopefully DeVonta Smith Doesn't Get Randomly Tested This Season Because He Has A Massive Wawa Addiction
DeVonta Smith had a great rookie season last year with the Birds. He set the Eagles franchise record for most receiving yards by a rookie. And things should be even easier for him this year now that the Eagles have added AJ Brown to the mix. He probably hasn't been in a wide receiver room this loaded since…well…every year he was at Bama. But still. The Eagles are loaded at the receiver position this year and the Slim Reaper is poised to eat up.
Speaking of eating, well it appears that DeVonta Smith has officially acclimated himself to life in Philly and is now dealing with a crippling Wawa addiction.
A sandwich from Wawa every single day. If he keeps that pace up he won't be the Slim Reaper for much longer.
And here's how I know that DeVonta's Wawa addiction is real and he's not just pandering to the fans. The fact that his go-to sandwich is the honey turkey makes me know that he's a true Wawa enthusiast. That's a savvy order and I'd agree it's what Wawa does best. But it's not necessarily one that you'd get to right away if it were your first trip to a Wawa. That's one that you don't get until a little later on and then once you do? Bam. You're hooked for good. Honey turkey shortie with a little honey mustard, some sweet peppers and pickles, American cheese, grab an iced tea and maybe even a stuffed pretzel for the drive back home if you're feeling frisky.
My only fear now is the league comes out and slaps DeVonta Smith with one of those "random" drug tests that they're always so timely about. I don't know what the league's exact definition of a PED is, but I know for damn certain that a turkey & bacon wrap is a performance enhancing drug. I know for a fact that a sausage egg and cheese Sizzli on a croissant is a performance enhancing drug. I'd hate to see DeVonta miss any time this season because he can't stay off the 'Wa.
