The Entire Internet Is Freaking Out At Sydney Sweeney Because Her Mom Wore (What looked like) A MAGA Hat To Her Own Surprise Birthday Party
Source - Sydney Sweeney did a photo dump to honor her mom's birthday, but it's instantly backfiring -- because people think it's showing her true colors ... ones they perceive as red.
The "Euphoria" actress threw up a bunch of shots Saturday on IG, showing her and her family celebrating her mother Lisa's 60th birthday. They held the shindig at some sort of ranch, and the theme is hoedown-inspired ... with everyone rocking cowboy hats and boots.
Seems relatively harmless -- but some fans of hers are raising an eyebrow to the vibe they're putting off, especially when it comes to certain people's attire ... shirts and hats specifically.
In one of the photos that SS posted, she's alongside three other adults (one of whom is her mother, the blonde woman) as well as what appears to be her grandmother ... and an older gentleman. We're not exactly sure who he is, but he could easily be a relative as well.

Other photos and videos show attendees wearing red MAGA-style hats ... with "Make Sixty Great Again" emblazoned on the front. Her brother, Trent, posted these -- and made sure to note that's exactly what they said. But the fact they're being worn at all is getting criticism.
Guys...I'm sick. A sixty-year-old woman FROM IDAHO who happens to be the mother of a B-list celebrity wore a cap that resembles a MAGA hat to her own surprise birthday party. How can we, as a country, let this happen? I thought we were all on the same page politically? That's what makes America great - consensus when it comes to political figures and ideologies. Regardless, twitter blew up the second the photo surfaced resulting in over 112K tweets in just under twelve hours...
I'd include some of them in this blog but I don't feel like sifting through the internet's equivalent of trash. The whole thing is honestly insane and has blown up to the point where Sydney herself released a statement on Twitter…
Which just goes to show how fucking nuts people are when it comes to politics in this country. Like the fact that this is a national story is mind blowing. Bizarre, if you will. People have different political opinions and this wasn't even one of them. It was a bunch of country bumpkins celebrating a random woman's 60th birthday. Very strange it got the reaction it did. Oh well. This story is unfortunately going to trend for the next couple of days so I wanted to toss it on the blog. Have a lovely Sunday.
