Video: Florida Woman Performs Irish Folk Dance & Ballet During Award Worthy Sobriety Test

According to WKRN:

A sheriff’s office in Florida has released footage of a woman who performed “multiple ballet and Irish folk dance moves” during a roadside field sobriety test in late April.

Deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect, identified as a 38-year-old woman from Madeira Beach, had rear-ended another vehicle roughly one mile from her home on April 27. When deputies arrived, they said the driver showed several signs of impairment including bloodshot, glassy eyes and dilated pupils.

In the newly released video, the deputy administering a field sobriety test can be heard giving the suspect instructions. At one point, the woman responds, “Yeah, well, you sound like my ballet coach.”

The woman then took five steps along the line before transitioning into a ballet sequence.

I don't respect anything about drunk driving & think you're a selfish moron if you do it, but what an absolute power move. The blind confidence to think a shaky treble jig will impress the cops so much you'll get out of a DUI... amazing. But unfortunately it's a dead giveaway as I can attest..

Pretty much everyone in the NorthEast has at least one friend who took Irish step dance lessons when they were a kid, and without a doubt, every, single time they get drunk they cannot help but remind you & then bust a couple moves even if the music doesn't match. It's a dead giveaway they've crossed the threshold from buzzed to shitfaced.

I'm sure these cops knew that well before she began strutting around the parking lot, but I love that they let her keep going if only for the fantastic body cam video. In the end, "she was charged with driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to testing". Cue a very sad dance.

Goes without saying, but let me close this out with the video everyone reading this thought of right away ("step, bomp! step, bomp-bomp!"):
